PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT

At ALBERT NOBILIS, we are deeply committed to contributing to the objectives outlined in the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, which seeks to limit global warming to an average of 1.5°C. Our commitment extends to reducing our direct carbon footprint, encompassing our energy consumption at our own facilities, within our supply chain, and across all our indirect activities, including services, transportation, employee travel, and waste management. We have meticulously designed a trajectory to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, which has been rigorously reviewed and approved by Science Based Targets.

We take full responsibility for our carbon footprint, encompassing all activities worldwide (scopes 1-2-3). After careful analysis, we’ve identified the primary sources of greenhouse gas emissions as raw materials, energy, and transport. To address this, we’ve focused our efforts on reducing emissions from our buildings, equipment, and transportation, which collectively account for nearly half of our total emissions. Our responsible sourcing actions are targeted at mitigating emissions generated from raw materials.

Improving Energy Efficiency

We are progressively outfitting our stores with energy-efficient LED lighting, including store windows, in-shop lighting, and facades. Lighting constitutes one of the most energy-intensive aspects of our stores, but it’s also one of the most adaptable. By transitioning to LED lighting in all new and renovated stores since 2017, we’ve achieved a remarkable 30% reduction in our total energy consumption attributed to lighting.

Energy Reduction at Our Logistics Center and Workshop

We are in the process of reorienting our buildings to maximize natural light sources and have installed Solar & Wind systems and heat pump systems equipped with sensors for precise temperature regulation.

Collaboration with Our Transport Partners

From the outset, we establish and share concrete commitments and objectives with all our transport and logistics partners when initiating contracts. We’ve pioneered an innovative internal method that prioritizes environmental considerations as a pre-selection criterion when shortlisting potential partners.

Enhancing Transportation Energy Efficiency through Sustainable Practices

ALBERT NOBILIS is dedicated to reducing our reliance on air freight and actively participating in the industry’s transition. We request vehicle status information from our logistics partners. For local road transport, our goal is to completely transition to non-diesel fuels by 2030. We already encourage our partners to use electric or natural gas vehicles for deliveries between central warehouses and our stores.

By implementing these initiatives, ALBERT NOBILIS is playing a crucial role in safeguarding our environment while advancing sustainability in our operations.
